Custom yacht signs and our manufacturing process
To manufacture the design of your illuminated lettering for ship names precisely, we employ different machined procedures. The acrylic will be cut out from massive material by CNC mills and the steel will be cut out congruently from metal sheets by laser.
To make sure that traces of welding on the backside of your lettering will not be attacked by salt water on the open sea we protect the metal and the welded joints in an electrochemical process (passivation). Following a preliminary grinding we passivate our letters and later glue them additionally to the acrylic in a watertight way. Like this your ship name will be protected perfectly against external circumstances.
Wunderlicht guarantees perfectly finished surfaces and edging for all your yacht letterings. Due to our employees’ long years of experience we can even give surfaces of very thick materials a flawless shine.
Having completed the acrylic body of your yacht name the LEDs used for its illumination will be fed in and soldered in meticulous handcraft. We will only use long-lasting and high-luminosity LEDs to make sure your lettering will shine enduringly. Our illuminated yacht letterings come with a two years guarantee. At the end of the manufacturing process every letter will be checked on their LEDs’ faultless functionality, the surfaces of the lettering will be cleaned thoroughly and equipped with a protective film for transport. Our aim is to offer you a light-dot free and homogenous illumination for your yacht name. We will therefore only supply products with a quality that convinces ourselves.
Naturally we also provide custom-made products that will not match the usual manufacturing process. No matter if it is unusual shapes, super massive steel or folded stainless steel boxes: our steel processing allows us to offer all this in an incredible quality! Your ship name will be delivered standard made from 3 mm thick, seawater resistant stainless steel with straight cut or rounded off edges depending on your ideas and budget.
